On Friday, May 22, Upper Missouri Waterkeeper and Save Wild Trout is hosting a summer season kickoff event at the Craig Taphouse, “Protecting Montana’s Rivers & Fisheries.”
The event will include a presentation from Brian Wheeler, Director of Save Wild Trout, on what the scientific findings from water quality monitoring program has shown about degraded river conditions in the headwaters of Montana’s renowned trout fisheries, and Guy Alsentzer, Executive Director of Upper Missouri Waterkeeper will provide a summary on the legal and advocacy work Waterkeeper is undertaking to stop projects that would harm Montana’s waterways and secure new rules that provide river and fishery protection into the future.
Partnering with local fishing businesses including Headhunters, Wolf Creek Angler, Montana Fishing Outfitters, and Yellow Lab Outfitting, the event will include a raffle with fishing swag, and a portion of beverage proceeds will support efforts to protect cold, clean water in Montana.
